The tourism folks say that Mabry Mill is one of the most photographed stops on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a tranquil and charming spot.
If the mill were built in today’s world, it would probably be considered “light industrial” development, it would have to be in an area zoned appropriately, and since it makes use of existing water and stream runoff, it would no doubt be subject to a fair amount of environmental regulation.
